If you are looking for an incredibly gorgeous, sweet, playful, smart, and loving companion you may have just found your new best friend. Breezy is just under 8 months old. She loves EVERYBODY people, cats, other dogs, you name it. She sometimes plays a bit rough but she doesn't mean to, she just gets excited. She is a cuddle bug; loves attention and affection and does NOT like being left alone for extended periods of time. She will follow you like a shadow when she is not in play mode; she just likes to be near you. But Breezy is special. She was born blind and deaf. Breezy can see light and shadow, and MAYBE a little more in her right eye; she sometimes seems to hear high pitched sounds. But she does not see or hear what is around her; she can't protect herself from danger. She will not come if you lose track of her and try to call her. She is anxious in unfamiliar situations until she learns her way around. She gets frightened if she is left in a crate too long. She has some unusual ways of interacting with you that are based on touch and smell; some people might find it annoying, but it is how she knows to interact. Breezy quickly learns her way around a yard or a home, and if something new is added to her environment (a new raised bed garden, for instance) she quickly figures out where it is and avoids running into it. She can navigate short staircases once she learns where they are. She runs and plays just like any other young dog; watching her play you would never know she is deaf and blind. She only barks when she wants to go in, or out, or she's been left in her crate longer than she likes. Breezy is house-trained, and she knows touch signals for sit and for come with me. So Breezy needs a special home. One with LOTS of patience and understanding, and a big and very secure yard to play in. One where someone will be at home the majority of the time. One that does not mind working with her special needs and eccentricities, and won't get tired of them once the novelty wears off. Preferably a home with other dogs, and/or friendly cats. A home where she can get as much love as she abundantly gives. Are you that new forever home for this beautiful girl? Breezy is a special collie. She is what they call a double dilute. A double dilute is a result of breeding two dogs that carry a merle gene. This does not only happen in collies but other breeds as well. It typically results in blindness, deafness, or both as in Breezy's case.
